U.K. ESG Watch: Ticket resale at Wimbledon for charity
2025 Wimbledon tennis is drawing to a close on 13 July. Wimbledon operates a strict and unique ticket resale system designed to ensure fairness and support charitable causes.
If you are already inside the Wimbledon grounds with a Grounds Pass (£25), you can purchase returned Show Court tickets (Centre Court, No.1 Court, No.2 Court) from the Ticket Resale Kiosk. These tickets (sold by people who want to leave early) become available from 15:00 each day and are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. The daily closing time of tennis matches is about 22:00. Prices are £15 for Centre Court and £10 for No.1 and No.2 Courts—significantly below secondary market prices (usually more than £100!).
All proceeds from the official resale go to charity (see the photos), e.g.
counselling service for people in need,
support a singing group to help someone feel they are not alone, and
set up a safe place to sleep for someone experiencing homelessness.
This is truly a smart idea to fully utilise the value of tennis tickets by letting late comers to buy deep discounted tickets and helping the needy in society.
